Converting Visitors Into Customers

Converting people visiting your site into customers isn’t as hard to achieve than many think. Whether you’re selling an $80 fatloss product, or a $197 video training series, the same methods and tactics can be used to convert those visitors into sales. So how exactly do you go about this? These 4 steps will get you on your way to getting more clicks and orders.


Step #1 – Getting Targeted Traffic

When you’ve got TARGETED traffic arriving at your site, your visitors are more inclined to make a purchase – plain and simple. Let’s just say that you were promoting real estate, and you you’re plugging acne treatment, it’s highly unlikely they’ll convert. For best results, what you really need is to get LASER TARGETED traffic, and constantly work on optimizing sources of traffic.


Step #2 – Make Them An Offer They Can’t Refuse (not like Don Corleone please)

If your offer will actually help your customer, adds value to them, and is worthwhile – state it clearly. Remember, if you’re making shady claims, with fake testimonials, and just being shifty overall, people will notice this. However, being completely honest with your prospect, and being specific about how your product or service can genuinely add value to them, they’re more likely to convert. How will they benefit out of it? How will using your product or service make their life easier and more enjoyable? These are the EXACT things that you need to highlight in your website’s sales copy.


Step #3 – As Much As Possible Split Test EVERYTHING

It’s essential that you split test as much as possible. This can include the images, the header, the tagline, the ‘Buy Now’ button, you name it. Split test until you get the highest converting version of your sales copy. Split testing is crucial, regardless of what you’ve got to offer, it applies to virtually any site. You probably don’t know, but sites like Amazon will religiously split test as much as possible. And the reason for this is easy: because even a simple change can make the difference between no conversions, or a highly optimized site, converting visitors into customers.


Step #4 – Make Sure You Get Feedback From Visitors

It doesn’t matter whether you’ve got a large or small website, feedback from your visitors could be crucial to your business. It’s important to know if your visitors are having problems with finding forms, navigating pages, getting images, or any other problems for that matter. The problem is that your average visitor will probably not take the time to email you about it, so this is easier said than done. One idea is you could have a survey on your site, or at the very least, make it simple and easy for your visitors to contact you. If visitors are telling you that they’re having troubles navigating through your site, FIX IT IMMEDIATELY! Another thing not to delay in fixing, is if visitors inform you that there’s spelling and formatting errors.

As mentioned at the beginning of this article, converting visitors into customers is NOT rocket science. Once you’ve got all the components and ingredients working collectively, the end result (a sale!) will be more achievable.

Once you’ve been able to master these skills, and find a solution that works best for you, it can be applied to any of your sites with similar offers. Having said all this, there are external factors to be considered. To name a few, these would include the different sources of traffic, the demographics of your audience etc. And ultimately, you’ll be able to do what? INCREASE BOTTOM LINE!
